Pakatan Rakyat Row Hots Up: Fauzi denies Pahang PKR in shambles after takeover

Newly-appointed Pahang Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) chief Datuk Fauzi Abdul Rahman yesterday rebutted rumours that the party was in a shambles after he took over the post from Zakaria Abdul Hamid recently.

"It's not true and only the media are playing up the issue to show we are divided."
Fauzi said he met the PKR state and divisional leaders on Saturday and all of them supported his appointment which was decided during a supreme council meeting recently.

Asked to comment on the opposition from the PKR Youth wing, Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK), Fauzi said this was normal in a democratic organisation.

Indera Mahkota member of parliament Azan Ismail of PKR said there was opposition from a few members of AMK initially, but all of them finally agreed to support Fauzi.
"We must accept the decision made by the party leadership," said Azan who was retained as the state deputy liaison chief.

Fauzi, the former deputy information minister and ex-Kuantan member of parliament, left Umno to join PKR in July.
