Syeikh Kickdefella Bebas

Badan Peguam Mohon Semua Tahanan ISA Dibebaskan Segera Dengan Tanpa Syarat
Duit keringat peneroka, bukannya bonus - Mazlan
"Saya bukannya anti dialog.
I'll be their worst nightmare if they continue with their arrogance and anti-Islam attitude," katanya menjelaskan kedudukan kepada JKD.
Raymond Tan keberatan lepas jawatan kabinet
Rombakan kecil

Leader-in-waiting launches end game
At his suburban office, Anwar appears in bare feet and apologises for a short delay while he says his fourth round of prayers for the day. Fifteen minutes later, the opposition leader is back, shod now in black ostrich-skin brogues, to talk about his extraordinary bid to convince the Government that, despite its apparent majority in Parliament, he should be in charge.
The psychological warfare is getting fraught. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had said Anwar was a "threat to the economy and possibly security" — indicating the opposition leader could fall foul of the draconian Internal Security Act.
In a formal statement yesterday, the US State Department said Abdullah's remark was "extremely troubling" and
Anwar wonders if he is heading back to prison. "When the prime minister, in any developing country where these sorts of security laws are in operation, states that you are a threat to the economy and possibly national security, then the next option is to arrest," he says.
A decade ago, when Anwar was deputy prime minister, his bid for power against then Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad ended in disaster.
Hit with highly questionable charges of sodomy and trying to interfere with a police investigation, he spent six years in jail. He was released in 2004 when the more conciliatory Abdullah succeeded Dr Mahathir.
Now 61, Anwar has closed in on the Barisan Nasional ruling coalition that so humiliated and punished him for his "reformasi" bid in 1998.
In March, his improbable Pakatan Rakyat coalition of three diverse parties — his PKR, the leftist, ethnic Chinese-based DAP and the Islamic party Pas — broke Barisan's two-thirds majority in the federal Parliament, and won control of five of
On Aug 26, Anwar won a by-election with a huge majority, despite having another sodomy charge laid against him shortly before the vote.
This week, Anwar announced he had "more than enough" defections from Barisan MPs to form a government, and asked to meet Abdullah to effect a smooth transfer of power. Unsurprisingly, Abdullah derided the request, as he did Anwar's later call to reconvene Parliament.
Barring an unlikely intervention by the King, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, Anwar faces a nervous wait until Parliament resumes on Oct 13.
He faces a relentless onslaught on his credibility by the state-controlled broadcast media and the mainstream newspapers.
He and his colleagues are also at risk from the highly politicised police, whose secretive Special Branch has morphed from its original role of fighting communist insurgents into one of keeping Barisan in power.
The Special Branch wields the Internal Security Act, which allows suspects to be held for 60 days, where interrogators specialise in "turning over" (breaking down) detainees through prolonged questioning, sleep deprivation, humiliation and disorientation. Then they can be locked away without trial for renewable two-year terms.
Last Friday, the Special Branch arrested MP Teresa Kok, an ethnic-Chinese member of Anwar's alliance, after a newspaper ran spurious reports that she had tried to stop a mosque broadcasting the morning call to prayer.
The country's best-known blogger, Raja Petra Kamarudin, was also taken in under the security Act, while another journalist was briefly detained.
Kok was released yesterday after a week's detention, and Abdullah seemed to back off his implied threat. But Anwar's team is acutely aware that only five arrests of MPs could change a no-confidence vote, if and when it happens.
"When a party has been in power for more than half a century, to imagine losing their grip on power is going to be horrendous, unthinkable and they may resort to this measure," Anwar said.
But he has his work cut out explaining to ethnic Malays why the positive discrimination of the past 40 years — preference for university places, government jobs, finance credits, cheaper houses and a 30% slice of new investments — mostly benefited a tiny, well-connected elite through Barisan founding party Umno and its networks of cronyism and patronage, and should be replaced with policies based on need rather than race.
On the other side, non-Malays wonder about his Islamist background and recall his role implementing pro-Malay discrimination as an Umno minister.
"It took us a while to come to terms and go from Anwar who was education minister and actually did a lot of damage to the Chinese school system, to the new reformist Anwar," said Dominique Ng, a Kuching lawyer who won a
Ng is now convinced that "the new Anwar can be the one who saves
Anwar doesn't regret his years in the Mahathir government.
"With all the faults and limitations of Umno at that time, it was never this blatantly corrupt and arrogant," he said.
He could have protested more loudly against the Mahathir government's security Act arrests and sacking of judges, but had still hoped to change the system from within.
"Having said that, I've suffered enough, I've repaid for the years I was in government," he said with a smile.
His agenda for Islam in
But his jail ordeal strengthened his concern for freedom. "Being six years in prison, solitary confinement, teaches you quite a lot," he said. "The passion for democracy, for justice, is far more pronounced … Basically these years of sojourn and wilderness did help.
"You empathise with people as people. I am very Malay, I love the language, I follow Indonesian literature a lot … I am also a committed Muslim. I fast, I pray, but that does not make us intolerant of other cultures."
"So who am I?" Anwar says. "They say I'm a chameleon because to the Western journalists I sound liberal, to the Muslim crowd I echo the Quran.
"It's true — I don't go into the little village and quote Shakespeare, and when I talk to Chinese I use a few words of their language and quote Confucius. But the fundamental pillars remain unchanged … I am still a Malay, a committed Muslim, and very much a Malaysian."
Negara Lain Pun Ada..!

Rais Yatim "Goreng" Orang Kampung

Langkah Seterusnya: Istana Negara
Pakatan had already sought an audience with the constitutional monarch to stake its claim on the federal government by sending an official letter to the king a few days ago, PAS Parit Buntar MP Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa told an anti-ISA forum in Penang last night.
If the king grants an audience, which Pakatan leaders hope will happen soon, Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim would then produce the names of parliamentarians backing him to convince the monarch that a change in Putrajaya was inevitable.
Mujahid said the opposition coalition was banking on the king to advise Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to call for an emergency session of Parliament to face the vote of no-confidence which Pakatan intends to table.
Expressing confidence that the king would intervene to thwart a political crisis, Mujahid said the opposition camp was boosted by royal precedents set in its decisive intervention on the appointments of mentris besar for Perak, Perlis and Terengganu after the March general election.
Going The Constitutional Way
He said Pakatan’s priority was to exhaust all constitutional ways and means to pave the way for a smooth transition of power.
“We will never resort to any unconstitutional, unconventional and undemocratic means and will continue to pursue constitutional means to ensure a smooth transition,” the PAS leader said.
Anwar claims to have the backing of the majority of the country’s 222 MPs, said to be bolstered by defection among government lawmakers, to take over the federal government. The claim has been rubbished as ‘a political bluff’ by BN leaders.
So far, Pakatan’s attempts to trigger a change constitutionally have been futile.
Abdullah has refused to meet Anwar to discuss a smooth transition and the prime minister has also flatly rejected the opposition’s request to call for an emergency session to hold a parliamentary vote of confidence
“So the next stop is Istana Negara and we hope the king will intervene and advise the prime minister to hold an emergency parliamentary session.
“We can then hold a ‘winner take all’ parliamentary vote of confidence and see who commands the majority support of lawmakers,” said Mujahid, who is also the Penang deputy commissioner.
ISA Has To Go
Earlier at the forum held at the Penang Chinese Town Hall in George Town, Mujahid called on BN leaders, especially those from Umno, to realise that God had not bestowed them the birthright to rule Malaysia forever.
“BN should read the writings on the wall and face political reality. Be a gentleman and step aside for us to take over,” he said to the cheers of the packed audience.
Prompted by the recent arrest under the Internal Security Act of parliamentarian Teresa Kok, blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin and journalist Tan Hoon Cheng, the opposition coalition has been organising a series of candlelight vigils and rallies to challenge the draconian law.
Pakatan has also transformed these gatherings over the past week to consolidate and galvanise support of civil rights movements and the public to force a change in Putrajaya.
Last night’s forum - ‘Abolish ISA. Abolish Barisan Nasional’ - organised by DAP is another indicator that Pakatan is capitalising on the government’s ‘ISA blunder’ to fast track its political agenda.
“If one wants to live in free country, one has to abolish ISA.
“For this to happen, one must abolish Barisan Nasional,” summed up another speaker, Bukit Bendera MP Liew Chin Tong.
It's Time To Go Lah..!
Umno supreme council members had reportedly told Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in their meeting on Thursday that the political situation was not improving and that he should consider an earlier exit.
At the same time, Abdullah’s supporters are rallying around him to ask him to stick to the transition plan and defend his president’s post, if need be.
Home Minister and supreme council member Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar revealed that Abdullah listened intently and asked for time to discuss the matter with Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
“He is conscious of the wishes of the grassroots and he said he is willing to exercise flexibility.
“I don’t think there is any necessity to talk about applying pressure. Let him make the decision,” said Syed Hamid.
The minister said Abdullah was also aware of the time line €” Oct 9 €” when Umno divisions will begin their annual meetings to nominate candidates for party posts, including those for the president and deputy president.
Five supreme council members spoke during the closed-door meeting, four explaining the need for a quicker exit plan saying that it would not be feasible for the party president to stay beyond December when the party convenes for the General Assembly.
The four were vice-president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Youth chief Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Wanita chief Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz and supreme council member Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, who is Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister.
Rafidah is said to have told Abdullah that Wanita grassroots members had informed her that he might not even be able to secure the minimum 58 nominations required to defend his presidency. Her no-holds barred approach caused several of those present to ask her to tone down.
Kelantan Umno chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa was the only one who spoke up for Abdullah, criticising those asking him to go.
He reminded the two top leaders that they had committed themselves to the 2010 transition plan.
Several more were about to speak but Najib, noticing that Abdullah was visibly affected, stepped in and ended the discussion, saying that those who spoke had made their point. He asked that Abdullah and him be allowed to take the discussion to a more “private level.”
Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Latif Ahmad said the supreme council must be informed about details of the transition because “this is not a private love affair between two people.”
“We should not be kept in the dark because it affects the country, Barisan Nasional and Umno,” he told The Star.
Analyst Datuk Seri Annuar Zaini said a captain needed accurate information to negotiate stormy seas.
“The decision lies with Pak Lah and it is good he knows the situation on the ground,” he said.
A senior member of the supreme council has been tasked by the others to meet Abdullah soon to secure a more definite answer from him.
Datuk Alwi Che Ahmad, the Prime Minister’s political secretary, said of now, Abdullah stood by the 2010 transition plan.
At the Selangor Umno liaison committee meeting yesterday, 20 of the 22 divisions wanted state party chief Tan Sri Muhammad Muhammad Taib to ask Abdullah “to have a big heart and accept that the political situation calls for change.”
They also called for a smooth and graceful transition that will not involve a contest for the top post.

Tulisan Jawi: Teresa Akui Bantah

1 barrel(tong) = 159 liter
1 USD = RM 3.471
Harga minyak semasa = USD92.92 setong
Dulu USD145 x 3.03 (Rate semasa) / 159 liter = RM3.00 - RM0.30 (Subsidi) = RM2.70
Skrg USD92.92 x 3.47 (Rate semasa) / 159 liter = RM2.03 - RM0.30 (Subsidi) = RM1.73
Kerajaan jual => RM2.55

NIK AZIZ: ISA is wrong in Islam
The Pas spiritual leader said this after meeting Terengganu Pas commissioner Datuk Mus-tafa Ali yesterday.
Nik Aziz said the government should consider the wishes of the public, especially with the resignation of de facto law minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, who spoke out against recent ISA arrests.
"The ISA does not give the accused a chance to defend himself.
This is wrong as in Islam, the accused is allowed to defend himself.
Nik Aziz, who was upset by the statement, had criticised Mustafa in the party's organ, Harakah.

Sept 23 deadline for 'showdown'
Calling it the "final showdown", he said it would allow him to prove, once and for all, that the opposition had the support of more than 31 MPs from BN to make up the minimum 112 seats needed for a majority and to form the new government.
"We have told him (Abdullah) that we have the numbers. If he does not believe me, then convene an emergency sitting," Anwar said at the Parti Keadilan Rakyat headquarters.
Abdullah had challenged him to name the BN MPs who had purportedly agreed to cross over to Pakatan Rakyat by Malaysia Day.
He has, so far, not named a single one of them. Now he is playing for time by demanding a meeting of Parliament to table a motion of no confidence against Abdullah, which is certain to be turned down.
He said a letter signed by him, the DAP's Lim Kit Siang and Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, had been sent to the prime minister to request him to convene Parliament by next Tuesday.
Asked why the PR alliance could not wait until Oct 13 when Parliament reconvenes, he said:
"State of flux, volatility, ISA arrests, economic collapse, switching cabinet portfolios midstream, uncertainty in Umno supreme council meetings. How long can you wait?"
He claimed he had met fund managers in the region, representing over US$1 trillion (RM3.4 trillion) in capital, who were ready to invest in the country when the Pakatan Rakyat took over the government.

Lagi Kes Curi Balak Di Pahang

Pete Jokes...
I am engaged to this young man and we will be getting married next year. However, I am unsure of him and suspect he may be unfaithful to me. You see, I think he is gay as I have caught him ‘making eyes’ with other men many times and I read somewhere that gay man are promiscuous. Furthermore, homosexuality is prohibited in my religion, Islam, so this may create problems with my parents, who are very staunch Muslims. What should I do?
Yati
Dear Yati,
First of all, you must not think that all gay men are promiscuous. Some are actually very faithful and have remained with the same partner for many years. But then you only suspect that your fiancĂ© may be gay because, as you said, you caught him ‘making eyes’ with other men. It could be that he is just a friendly sort of person, that’s all.
Anyway, why not lay the matter to rest by getting him to swear on the Quran in a mosque that he is not gay. This is now the trend adopted by the government to dispel any accusations that one is gay.
Pete
Dear Pete,
I am an Indian by birth and have tried for so long to pass myself off as Malay. But my friends still call me ‘Mamak’ and this really upsets me. I am half-Muslim and half-Hindu and I have made this clear many times. Mamaks are pure Muslims so this label certainly does not apply to me, who am half-Muslim and half-Hindu. What should I do? Do you think suing all those who call me ‘Mamak’ will help? I am filthy rich and possess the right connections and can choose the judge who will hear my case; so I will surely win all my cases.
Son of Abdullah
Dear Son of Abdullah,
First of all, you can’t go around suing all your friends who call you ‘Mamak’ or else you will have no friends left. You can, however, sue all your enemies who call you ‘Mamak’. But then, if your enemies run into millions, you may end up being ‘locked up’ in court for the rest of your life.
One option would be to change your name, in particular the ‘Son of Abdullah’ part. You can legally do this by obtaining a change-of-name certificate from the National Registration Department.
In fact, you can even add a Tunku, Raja or Tengku to your name. And your name should be changed to something very Malay sounding, such as Embong, Jusoh, etc. How does Tengku Embong Bin Tengku Jusoh sound like? This is not only very Malay but will also give you a ‘royal’ touch as well.
Pete
Dear Pete,
I am a Hindu who is about to marry a Malay girl. My future parents-in-law insist that I must first convert to Islam but I am worried that, when I die, there may be a tug-of-war between my family and my wife’s family as to where I should be buried. What should I do? Should I convert to Islam or forget about marrying this Malay girl?
Rajadurai a/l Rajalingam
Dear Rajadurai,
If you really love this Malay girl then carry on and marry her, even if you are forced to convert to Islam. You must remember; love is blind; which, therefore, can help you overcome any trial and tribulation. So you must be prepared to face whatever comes for the sake of love.
Anyway, what do you care what happens to your body after you have died? It is not like you will know where you are buried since you are already dead. And look at it on the bright side. Once you convert you will no longer be known as Rajadurai a/l Rajalingam. You can request that your new Muslim name be changed to ‘Raja Durai Bin Raja Lingam’ and then everyone will have to address you as ‘Tengku’. You will then be entitled to buy Amanah Saham shares and Malay Reservation land -- plus you can also become an Umno member and do a post-graduate course in UiTM, amongst some of the other benefits.
Who knows, you might even become the next Prime Minister, as Indians of the Islamic faith appear to have the best chance of becoming Prime Minister. And, no, you don’t need to change your name to ‘Bin Abdullah’. This is not what Islam stipulates and you can insist that they retain your original name, but with some modifications as I suggested above.
Pete
Dear Pete,
I started my business about ten years ago but can’t seem to make it in the business world. My financial problems have strained my marriage and my wife has asked for a divorce. I am contemplating closing down my business and instead go work for a Chinese towkay who has indicated he is prepared to give me a job. But I do not want to be remembered as a failure and my Malay pride forces me to plod on against all hope even though I know it is futile to continue along this dead end road. Furthermore, why should I go work for a Chinese towkay when it is these Chinese who are robbing us Malays of our rights? What should I do?
Melayu Baru
Dear Melayu Baru,
You should bury your Malay pride and do what is right for your family, even if it means closing down your business and going to work for a Chinese towkay. Your family should come first. I know it is demeaning to work for the same Chinese who are robbing us Malays of our rights. But let’s face it, 90% of the economy is controlled by the Chinese and, as the previous Prime Minister said, they also pay 90% of the taxes. So we Malays have really no choice but to tompang with the Chinese. That is the reality of the situation.
Pete
Dear Pete,
I am about to enter university and am undecided whether to take Business Administration or Political Science. My friends advice me to take Business Administration because, they say, I can make more money in the business world. What do you advice?
UiTM New Intake
Dear UiTM New Intake,
I would advice you take Political Science as you certainly can make more money in politics than in business. The business world is very competitive and there are more failures than success stories. Once you make it politics, you can enjoy 30% shares in Chinese companies plus Chairmanships thrown in. And these shares are all free. You need not pay for them. And, later, when you sell these shares, you get to keep the money.

Dear Pete,
I am a 56-year old Malay businessman who is about to marry a 26-year old singer. I am considering going for Botox treatment to make my face look younger but was told that it is haram for Muslims. What is your advice?
Sugar Daddy
Dear Sugar Daddy,
You can consider eating plenty of tempe because an ex-Chief Minister did just that and he now looks much younger. But I don’t know how much tempe you need to eat and for how long before you get to see the positive affects. One setback with eating too much tempe is that it will give you plenty of wind, so you will have to be very careful with crowded lifts.
Anyway, you should not worry too much whether Botox is haram or not considering that you are a businessman. Surely you indulge in haram activities everyday and Botox would be way at the bottom of the long list of harams.

Dear Pete
I am running a bar-disco and have installed 20 slot machines, which is the main money-spinner for my bar-disco. The slot machines can bring me about RM1 million a month. However, while I have a licence to operate my bar-disco, I do not have a licence for the 20 slot machines and now the police want me to pay them RM50,000 a month as protection money or else they will confiscate my slot machines and probably also close down my bar-disco. Bribery is haram in Islam and I am not sure whether I should pay the police the RM50,000 a month they are asking for or should I instead remove the 20 slot machines? I want to avoid doing something that Islam forbids. What is your advice?
Islam Jati
Dear Islam Jati,
Bribery is prohibited in Islam so I urge you to not pay the RM50,000 a month to the police even though your slot machines are bringing in RM1 million a month. Remove the slot machines and just operate your bar-disco, which has a licence. That would be the proper Islamic thing to do.

UMNO Kena Sumpah Lagi

Dijamu 'seperti makanan anjing'
Beliau hanya diberikan dua bantal apabila diminta, katanya. Bagaimanapun selimut dibekalkan.
